WOOD WORKING
WOOD WORKING
This project is an exploration of form, material, and the relationship between organic shapes and functional design. The piece features a hand-carved wooden serving board crafted from contrasting wood tones, seamlessly blending walnut, maple and cherry to create a fluid, sculptural surface.
The Lagosian, a project that captures the essence of Lagos street culture and the vibrant commercial environment that characterizes Nigeria’s largest city. The project consists of magazine covers and visual elements, inspired by the colors, patterns, and typography commonly seen on the streets of Lagos.

The creation process involved precise woodworking techniques, including cutting, shaping, and sanding by hand to emphasize tactility and form. This project embodies a celebration of craft, bringing attention to how everyday objects can tell stories of connection—between maker and material, tradition and modernity.

The process began with sketching organic shapes inspired by cultural patterns and natural elements found in home environments. A combination of hand tools and machine sanding was used to shape the plates, followed by lamination techniques to merge different wood types. This approach not only created visual contrast but also symbolized the blending of different stories and backgrounds. Each stage involved iterative sanding and refinement, ensuring the final product was smooth yet retained the raw character of wood
